Carved Train Engine

$100.00

Carved Stoneware Train Engine. This sculptural whimsey was carved to test a new method of interior construction. It is a combination of hollow elements instead of a single block of clay. As I move forward with this type of construction it will allow me (Paul) greater latitude for how I do their final firing. Look for raku or saggar fired constructions in the future.

Trains and trucks are part of my sculptural vocabulary. I carve very much like I draw. I like glazes that break and show texture. Look for more of these individual constructions in the future
